Hey guys, first of all, congrats on getting to Grade 12! Transitioning to university next year is a massive step, but I want to give you the real, unfiltered truth about what to expect so you can mentally prepare right now. First things first: you need to decide before you enter university exactly where you want to go and what department you want to join. Don't leave this to chance. If you are leaning toward technology, engineering, or computer science, ASTU and AASTU are absolutely the best choices. Just keep in mind that a place like ASTU strictly offers engineering and applied science departments—nothing else. Because they specialize, they are definitely tougher and more competitive compared to other universities, especially if you want highly demanded fields like Software Engineering. If you want social sciences or other fields, AAU is your best bet. Either way, you have to be ready to be a good competitor, but it all becomes easy once you make a firm decision and keep an unshakable goal in mind. You've probably heard a ton of scary rumors about how brutal university life is, but honestly, those rumors are false, so please don't panic! The classes themselves are completely manageable and easy as long as you prepare your mind and stay focused on what you want to achieve. The real trap is laziness. You absolutely cannot afford to be lazy here; you have to stay alert and focused all the time. It really comes down to one golden rule: using your time properly and staying disciplined. Look, I’m not even saying I use my time perfectly myself, but I know for a fact that if you manage it well, there is actually plenty of time to handle everything and make life easy. Time never stops moving, and if you don't move with it, it will pass you by. If you procrastinate and only start studying when a test arrives, you are going to be under insane pressure and your marks will suffer. But if you stay disciplined and handle your business early, everything becomes smooth. The best part? This intense pressure and competition is really just a fresh year thing. Freshman year is tough because you are competing to get into your dream department. But trust me, once you get through this hurdle and finally secure your field, the crazy pressure lifts and everything goes back to normal. For now, my biggest advice is to genuinely enjoy your summer, relax, and use that free time to look into the fields and decide what you want to learn. And if you are planning to come to ASTU, or if you end up here and want to know more about the campus, the vibe, or need further advice, don't hesitate to reach out! You can find me on Telegram at Na_fanta. Just stay goal-focused, don't let time slip away, work hard, and you are going to achieve exactly what you want!

Don't stress yourself out just do what needs to be done on time. The one thing you should always remember is that your freshman CGPA matters a lot, so work hard, but don't burn yourself out.

Dear coming batch, here's what i want you to know before joining any university specially ASTU. Prepare yourselves for new and unexpected challenges, prepare for a change of routine every now and then until you know "your" right track, it is completely normal that you are not yet able to tell what you want in life even if everyone around you talks about their perfect plans, cry in peace if you have to and don't feel guilty about it but more importantly don't cry about the same problem again , relationship is not your first priority but could happen (but not your first priority), think of it as a beginner basic instruction for the life waiting for you outside, it time you get more intimate with Jesus, read your bible and pray, go to fellowship programs, library is not for the nerds only-if you think it is then be one, last but not least love your dormmates neighbors but don't be too close until few month. love y'all i wish you great uni years.
