Dear incoming batch, Here’s what I wish I had known before I joined Hawassa University. First, the university offers programs that are highly sought after by many students. Among all the programs it offers, Hawassa University is especially well known for its health-related fields, such as Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing. Second, I want to talk about the academic workload. Since Hawassa University is one of Ethiopia's first-generation universities, the academic workload can be challenging. It is helpful to have a strong academic foundation from high school, and you should be prepared to work hard once you arrive. I am not saying this to scare or discourage you. I mention it so that you can prepare yourself well from the moment you decide to join Hawassa University. With good preparation, hard work, and consistency, you will have a much better chance of achieving your dream. Third, let's talk about campus life. The campus(main compus) is very beautiful, with plenty of green spaces and trees. These green areas create a peaceful environment and help make the hot weather in Hawassa more comfortable. It is a pleasant place to study, relax, and spend time with friends. I hope these points help you prepare for your university journey. I wish you all the best, and I hope you enjoy your time at Hawassa University while making the most of every opportunity.
Stay focused on your academics, and don't get discouraged if things don't go as planned. Always have a Plan B, especially for your department choice. Take your time, make informed decisions, and work hard for the future you want.
If your goal is to study medicine or pharmacy, hawassa university isn’t the right university for you. I wish I knew that sooner before I joined the university and their exams are also a bit difficult and require deep reading.
Have plans on what to join
I wish i knew the real detail about the department i just joined
